OOTD – Losin’ My Marbles

Today, with the warm weather in full swing and the Boulder Creek Festival happening, I got to break out my summer clothes and spend some quality time outdoors ON A SWING. I kept my outfit light and airy, with my sleeveless, mock neck, marble-print SWING dress, while sporting a loose-knit, black cardigan, to exude a more relaxed, and effortless vibe.. To spruce up the outfit, I paired the outfit with black, knee-high, lace-up gladiator sandals. I continued the effortless look with a basic, black brimmed vintage. The sandals and the brimmed hat were the accent pieces of my outfit. To compliment and complete the rest of my outfit, I finished the look off with a pair of black and gold circle brow bar sunglasses in order to ward off the sunlight from my eyes.

My outfit today incorporated:

  1. Sleeveless Mock Neck Marble Print Swing DressRagstock
  2. Black Knit Oversized Cardigan With Pockets – Forever 21
  3. Knee-High Lace-Up Gladiator Sandals – Target (ITEM NO LONGER IN STOCK)
  4. Black and Gold Circle Brow Bar SunglassesRagstock
  5. Black Hat With Vintage Embellishments – Forever 21

Oooh, Baby (Pink)!!

Baby pink is the word on the street, and you should take a good, long listen to it. season.

Try switching it up from the dark hues and nude tones, that are currently in this season, with a light touch of baby pink.

Baby pink resembles neon pink, but is a much more mellow variation of this color, leaving you lots of room to experiment with this season with it. Make a not-so-subtle, playful statement, with baby pink overalls from Forever 21, or with a baby pink baseball cap from Urban Outfitters, or even with a baby pink choker from Target. You can even find baby pink sneakers this season, so if you really want to step up your sneaker game this season, try sporting the popular sneaker trend in a baby pink hue. Adidas and Puma have incorporated some baby pink tones into their recent collections.

Baby pink attire is eligible for use by women of all ages, as it a young color for all women to experiment with. Plus, it goes with all skin tones, so baby pink does not discriminate!

Do not worry, you can sport baby pink in any article of clothing or accessory, because there is no absolutely no shortage of baby pink clothing and accessories these days.

It was a hard hit-or-miss with baby pink, as many women have recently been gravitating towards nude tones and dark hues. Luckily, this summer, baby pink is making a presence among fashion retailers, as designers tried to find a happy medium between a fun, youthful color, and a color that could be also be mature and timeless, all while catering to the consumer’s needs. The color itself can be described as a nude, or pastel, pink tone, reintroducing the relevant nude tone trend that has taken over the fashion market. Baby pink is definitely the most playful form of the “nude-ish” tones that continue to keep expanding their presence this season.

There is most certainly a big market for baby pink, as it caters to the needs of women of all ages and skin tones. Older women should not be afraid to try this vivacious trend, as baby pink comes in many hues and caters to many different styles, allowing everyone to play with the fun tone. Similarly, it does not matter what kind of style you sport, whether it be grungy, girly, tomboy, etc., because there is a baby pink something out there for everyone.

Keep it light and airy this season with a neutral, pastel tone pink. Despite the name, it is not just for babies!

Street Style Icons

Who do you look to for your day-to-day fashion inspiration? I constantly am searching for the newest and freshest faces in the entertainment business, who know what to wear and when to wear it.

Every person’s fashion icons are unique to themselves, as you try to develop your own sense of style. Bouncing ideas off of style icons, as well as regular people, can help you form your fashion identity.

My fashion icons include:

  1. Kendall Jenner – Casual, clean lines, minimalist, comfortable and cool are words I would use to describe Kendall Jenner’s style. She always is switching up her looks, often using basics, while including a statement piece to each and every one of her looks. As a model, it is her job to look good and sport pieces that make us all drool with envy. The more beautiful thing about Jenner’s style is that it’s an attainable look for everyone. She sports relatable pieces, such as basic crop tops and high-waisted jeans, that the average American can afford and feel comfortable in. It’s definitely no secret that Jenner loves her crop-tops and high-waisted apparel!

  2. Gigi Hadid – Cool and chic go hand-in-hand with Hadid’s style. She’s often seen sporting lots of chic clothes, and shares a similar style to that of Jenner’s. Both models are friends and bounce ideas off of each other. Hadid’s looks are elegant, and often, attainable for the average American, as well. Clean cut lines are also relevant in Hadid’s style, as she is often caught sporting basics, cool denim, and statement jackets and pieces. Hadid often goes out with a bang!
  3. Vanessa Hudgens – BOHO CHIC. Hudgens can make the best of the best look even more best. Her bohemian vibe and her ability to make things look effortless is a skill that not all can attain. Her style and fashion has adapted into a mature look that everyone can appreciate. Her street style is killer and she does not go unnoticed in my book. She loves her big, flowy pants and I can’t say I disagree with her insane obsession with flowy pants and skirts.
  4. Cara Delevigne – It is so hard for me not to rant and rave about Delevigne’s style, but she’s just so cool. Not only is her personality cool, but her style is absolutely rad. Delevigne is not afraid to take risks and she can always be seen sporting the most in-style items. Everything she owns, everyone else wants to own. Her style is unique, cool, chic, and classic. Delevigne is often caught sporting over-the-top, daring outfits, but somehow these outrageously cool items all seem to make themselves look good on her. Unique is the best way to describe this girl’s ever changing style.

Festies W/ My Besties

Music festival season is upon us, with Weekend 1 of Coachella to kickstart the festival season off just right.

This year’s appropriate festival wear includes:

  1. Two-Piece Matching Set Ensembles: Usually the matching set includes both a top and a bottom matching set, usually incorporating a crop-top and a dress, or a skirt. Ways to wear two-piece matching set ensembles include printed two-piece  sets, velvet two-piece sets, bright vibrant color two-piece sets, and basic two-piece sets, to list off a few ways to sport this relevant trend.
Two-pieces are also usually light and airy, allowing you to be able to move, be comfortable, and dance your booty off. This trend is meant to bring elegance and comfort into one trend.
  2. Body Jewelry and Chains – Body chains have taken over the festival seen. You can wear them with just about anything from two-piece matching sets to crop tops, and high waisted shorts. They are a great way to accent your outfit and add an effortless, bohemian chic look to your outfit. You can see them sported at festivals everywhere, year-round.
  3. Sheer – Whether it’s sheer lace or a black sheer top, sheer is in. Sporting sheer tops with elegant or fun bandeaus or bralettes is the move this season. Light layering is a big key to festival attire, as the temperature of your own body and your environment may constantly change around you. It is light and airy, another big theme of this upcoming festival wear.
  4. Overalls – Denim, not denim, black, white, skirt, shorts, whatever! Overalls are in and are one of the biggest ways to make a statement, be fun, and be comfortable. This is much more of a minimalist, casual look, but with all the variety of overalls, there is certainly no shortage of ways to make this look more updated. Adding a belt, sporting it with a cute bralette or crop top is a great way to finish this look off.
  5. Bodysuits – There is an endless supply of bodysuits wherever you shop nowadays.
Whether you want them low-cut, deep-v, high-neck, etc. there’s most certainly a market for this very comfortable, cute trend. Bodysuits are basically the basics of festival attire, as they can be paired with virtually anything, including flowy pants, high-waisted bottoms, skirts, overalls, etc. They come in all varieties, just like plain white t-shirts do. They are timeless, easy to sport, and a definitive “yes” for this season.
  6. Sequins and glitter – These two are always in for festival season. Glitter and sequins allow you to interact with your inner child and channel some fun into your look. Face glitter, glitter roots, face jewelry…these trends are all in this festival season, as they’ve been around for forever. Sequins and glitter are a fun to dress up, or spruce your entire outfit up and can be a complete game changer. Play with glitter and sequins, and of all different colors to achieve a festive look this season.
  7. Fun buns – This season is centered around fun, practical trends that can be worn functionally at a festival, or a concert. Fun buns are always in, in my book. This season they are especially in. You can wear them in a half-up or wear full on two buns, for double the fun. This playful, flirty trend is a great way to make your whole outfit a little more unique, and the best part? Your hair stays out of your face!
  8. Braids – Incorporating french braids or simple braids to your outfit to finish off a look exudes a sporty look, which is in this season. Look out for braided hair, cornrows, fishtails, and french braids this season, as they are making appearances everywhere. Braids are functional, and similar to fun buns, keep your hair out of your face. For a more chic, effortless, sporty look, gravitate towards braids to complete your look.

Distressin’ Over Nothin’

Do not let anything but your clothes be distressin’ you this season.

Distressed denim, jackets, tops, etc. are a way to jump into this summer season, with a fun statement. You can distress just about anything, from tops to bottoms, and they serve as a versatile look for both women and men.

Whether you debut light distressing or heavy distressing, it adds a more punk, grunge look to your outfit, which is certainly in this upcoming season. Distressed crop tops, distressed denim, distressed jackets, distressed dresses, you name it, they have it.

Distressed denim, in particular has found its’ way back into our beloved hearts, and style icons of every age have been engaging in the trend. Distressing is a fun trend that is great to wear for every day casual wear, as well as a statement piece for a night out.

This is an all ages inclusive trend, as well as an all inclusive gender trend, for both males and females. Best part about it is that it is completely gender neutral! Great for everyone.
how to wear

Not to mention, distressing can update an old article of clothing you never really thought about and is an easy DIY project! It’s not very time consuming, and can really do a lot to an old pair of jeans, top, jacket, or dress you were trying to sell at the nearest Plato’s Closet.

Stop distressin’ about your life, and start distressing your closet. This is a universally awesome trend that you should hop on board for!

All Choked Up

Looking for a quick, easy fix to dress up your kind-of basic outfit? Get choked up this season, because the 90s are making a comeback.

With Lisa Franks’ new eye makeup palette, to the return of crop tops and high-waisted pants, chokers are just another 90s trend that is making a huge comeback.

High-end jewelry designers, such as Michael Kors, Carbon & Hyde, Lili Claspe, Zimmermann, Eddie Borgo, Betsey Johnson and Jacquie Aiche have begun glamorizing the trend, using jewels and diamonds for a more elegant and sophisticated look.

Mirabel Diamante Star Choker

Models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid have been spotted sporting this trend numerous times. Chokers have become a staple in their closets, as they have been caught wearing a variety of different chokers, some made with diamonds, and other chokers are just made of velvet.

Style Icon and Fashion designer Kristin Cavallari even brought her Laguna Beach staple velvet choker back, Instagraming a photograph of herself in high school sporting a velvet choker. Looks like nothing has changed since the 90s!

Whether they are thick, thin, layered, black, velvet, lace, or made out of diamonds, this trend is a must-try.
